Sunflower Seed Harvest Started in Çivril

Sunflower seed harvest has started in Denizli Çivril, which meets a significant portion of our country's sunflower seed needs. The sunflower seeds in our region are among the highest quality sunflower seeds in our country. 80% of our products used as raw materials in the snack sunflower seed production sector are exported abroad either as raw materials or as processed snack sunflower seeds.

The Çivril district of Denizli province has fertile lands. Its name was given to describe this fertility: "Çivril" is a definition belonging to the Chagatai Turkish used by the Chagatai Turks who migrated to Anatolia during the Seljuk period, and it means "place with plenty of water", "wetland". La Recolte Du Monde hosted Mr. Mehmet Ali Topal, who produces and sells sunflower seeds wholesale in the Çivril district of Denizli. We got information about MATO Agricultural Products, which recently said hello to the legume sector. Our interview begins where we talked about MATO's present and future plans.

Can you tell us about your company? We started operating in 2013 by establishing our facility in the Çivril District of Denizli. MATO Agricultural Products is a 1.5 Trillion investment. We wholesale sunflower seeds, wheat, and poppy, etc. obtained from the fertile lands of Çivril to the market. We have a sunflower seed facility: Our annual capacity is 1,500 tons. However, in the coming days, we aim to produce more by expanding the facility.

How did you decide to establish MATO Agricultural Products? The Çivril region is fed by the water of Menderes, and we have fertile lands. We are successful in sunflower seed cultivation. Acting with foresight on this issue, I decided to establish a Sunflower Seed facility. Now we have wholesale sales to the sector, but in the future, we plan to package our product under our own brand and offer it for sale. Branding in the nuts sector is our biggest goal.

Can you tell us about your commercial relations with legume companies established in Turkey? The machines created by companies in Turkey in line with needs and the facilities they establish provide us with an advantage in production. As someone who has noticed this, I continue my commercial relations with companies in the general legume sector. Of course, experienced companies that have made a name for themselves in the sector, which we are consulting regarding the sunflower seed facility we are planning to establish, are at the forefront.
